Tatai Rangatira

WALA our Tatai Rangatira

We had to learn the schools pepeha first. after that we could use our own or use our school pepeha and create a google draw. We had to add a photo for each sentence. A pepeha was used to tell others where you came from. the different this you would say would say what area you where from.                                                                                                                                                                                                  Here is my Tatai Rangatira.

This is my Pepeha.

It was hard to find the right images to use for this.

I liked writing in my Pepeha.

Do you and me have the same Pepeha or are they different? tell me in the comments.

Food for thought rainbow foods

WALT find different fruits and vegetables that fit in the rainbow.

With food for thought we had a task to find different task and them put into a category that fit it’s colour for example an apple would go into the red category and a orange would go in the orange category. I think the green was the most full. Because there are so many green fruits and vegetables. Here is my work. ( It’s a little blurry)

I loved it when I found new fruits I have never heard of.

It was a bit tricky finding the brown, whits and blue and purple vegetables and fruits.

Have you ever done this before?

Food for thought

WAL how to check if the food we eat is healthy for our body

Every Wednesday Melissa comes into our classroom to teach us about the food we eat. This time we learnt how to check packets for how much good or bad things that are used in the food. We filled out a table to show us the different information. Here it is.

We used the pak’nsave website to find the food we needed.

It was challenging to find a muesli bar that passed and was perfect.

I liked writing in and finding the information we needed.

Does food for thought come to you school and teach you about food to?

Girls Soccer

WAL how to work together and play soccer

on Tuesday year 3-6 girls went to Taipa for soccer. There were three other schools who went too. On my team there was Sophia,Aria,Dayah,Rereata and me. Our team won most of them but the one we did best in was 4-1.

I really liked playing against Taipa school.

Some teams were a little mean so that’s one thing that was bad.

Did your school go to this? if you did tell me in the comments.

My Class of 2025 Te kauru

We are year 6 pupils.

My job is to scrap all the lunch at lunch time. My other Job is to scan and return books at the school library.I am a PALs leader. PALs stands for Physical Activity Leaders. We play games and activity with students at lunch.

There are 25 pupils in our class, 14 girls and 11 boys. We are all 9,10 and 11 year olds. In Te Kauru we are all expected to be role models to all the younger children in our school. That includes Tuakana Teina.

In our class we have Mrs.Stevenson as our teacher. We also have two Kaiawhena. In English Te Kauru means the crown of the tree.

In our class we also have a class treaty with rules we all have to follow.

Nothing in this was challenging.

I really enjoyed coming up with different ideas and sentences to write about my new class.

What’s your class like? tell me in the comments

Origami photo

WALT create a origami fish.

Today Whaea Donna came in to show us a summer learning program. On this Program there was a video on how to create a paper origami fish. The video showed us what to do and how to make it. Here is my paper origami fish. I even added a face and a mouth.

IT was challenging making it.

I enjoyed drawing the face.

Have you ever made a origami fish before? If you have tell me about it in the comments.

Kleki art

WALT create a piece of abstract art in kleki.

Today I created this piece of Abstract art in kleki. It is an amazing website that you can create any type of art in. This is my art.

It was so hard to figure out what everything does.

It was fun when I got the hang of all the tools.

Have you gone into Kleki and made a piece of art yet? If you have tell me about in the comments. If you havent give kit a go.

PALS group

WALT teach other kids different games we learn.

Last week I got selected to be in a group called PALS. Whaea Ebony teaches us some new games and skills to teach other kids in our school.  This Tuesday me Sophia and Toby did a game called team tail tag. The rules are everyone has a Velcro belt and one rip. You have 5 minutes to get as many rips from other people as you can.  One bad thing was that some people missed out on playing the game because some people were not listening. We played the game out on the back field by our class room. Lots of people enjoyed play team tail tag which was great.

The most difficult part was probably organising and making sure people listened to you.

The most fun part was defiantly when people started to play the game and people started to win.

So have you heard of PALs before?

today we  something i done know  please okay I can not lose
